Welcome back to the third monthly devlog for Undertale Amethyst!

Sorry for the late release with this one, some complications came up. Those said complications being life throwing 15 bowling balls to me all at once but ignoring that, it's time for the devlog! 

As you may have seen, July 3rd was the 6 month anniversary of this silly project. I'd like to thank you all for the support given over the last few months. I'd also like to give a special thanks to the wonderful developers for sacrificing their own time contributing to this project... 

Now, onto the news!

💜 Sprites

We don't have much to show you in terms of sprites, however, we can confirm that we've got a few sprites down but there's still a lot that need to be done. 

On an unrelated note, look at this sprite of Uva with big ass eyebrows, made by @NoobetteOWO

💜 Script

In terms of story, we've made some good progress on Neutral and even figured out that route's final boss. We've also decided who most of the bosses are for the Genocide route (although we haven't figured out who the final boss is, we are getting there!!)

💜 Developer Q&A

To celebrate 6 months of Undertale Amethyst, we decided to do a Developer Q&A, where you ask us questions, and we give you answers! (this takes up most of the devlog so be prepared).

Also, we can't answer all of them, but we tried our best. 
However, we might go back to the document (where we have all the questions laid out for us) to answer more!

Answer: Okay so, the dev team was being down bad again (as usual) and someone, i think it was Sushi, said “if theres a hole theres a..” and my brain went “HMMMMM whats the furthest i could take this..”. And because i was taking a poop and the only thing in my sight was a sink, i said “IF THERES A HOLE THERES A GOAL BY THAT LOGIC I CAN DO MY SINK” and thats what started the sink jokes :3 the jokes were gonna end the same day i started them but now its just kinda an inside joke? Maybe? I dont actually wanna fuck sinks. Or do i? You’ll never know because i wont tell you :3c

• @jacktheartist25: Will battle gameplay be like Vanilla Undertale or will there be changes such as like how the player moves or attacks?

Answer: As of right now, it’s going to look like the Undertale battle system, BUT it’s going to have mechanics from Deltarune as well, and that’s all i'm telling you :3

Answer: honestly i don't really know i just made a miner frog after i looked up references nothing specific but you know that somehow worked out, however his proportions were altered a lil from my original drawings of him mainly the face shape.

• @Oplkill: Is the game going to be open-sourced?

Answer: Maybe. We plan on releasing this game for free anyway, so if you wanna use the source code to mess with the files and characters and the horrible code, feel free to!! The source code is all hosted in a private GitHub repository anyway (for source control), so all it takes is to change the privacy settings to public.

Please note that plans might change though, either by Mabu giving the game a price tag, or concerns about people using the source code for malicious purposes.

Answer: it somewhat stemmed from them not having a lot of fangames being made once i got the idea, i mean there was already a notable fangame for every other soul so by process of elimination i chose them also i already had the perseverance design from smth in december so i tweaked it and thats how uva was made

sushiwt: my favorite part of development is probably CREATING the BATTLE SYSTEM!!! Its my first time every creating something like this so I think the two months I spent trying to make this is justifiable BUT its actually sooo funn (frustrating, but fun)

💜 Conclusion

We're really hoping to get a lot done during winter, to hopefully get this game out and ready for you to play!
